A Private Wilderness Estate
“Where the forest holds its silence, and the lake keeps the sky.”
Set deep within the ancient Finnskog of Värmland, Killingerud Lodge is a private retreat shaped by the land that surrounds it — still water, weathered timber, and the long, quiet rhythm of the Nordic year.

The drive to Killingerud follows the old forest road through spruce and pine — a slow passage out of the modern hour and into a country that has changed little in a century.
A cluster of dark-stained buildings stands at the edge of the clearing — a main lodge, working outbuildings, and quiet quarters for guests. Each was placed by hand, in deference to the trees and the light.

We build nothing the forest cannot forgive. We keep nothing the land does not give.

The land opens above Killingerud — clouds drawn long across the ridge, light shifting through the hours. It is a place to keep company with weather, and with one's own thoughts.

Still water, and the long northern dusk.
Deep within the historic Finnskog, on the Norwegian border.
Old-growth spruce, private waterfront, marked trails through wilderness.
A working estate kept in the quiet tradition of the Nordic country house.
Finnskog Dark is born from the same land — a dark Nordic compound gin, drawn from the botanicals of the Värmland forest.
